Avionics, Glass Cockpit Revolution; Human Factors; and Emerging Technologies

The six papers in this publication address the aspects of safety and risk assessment of vehicles beginning at the advanced design stage and continuing through the remaining service life of the product. Decision-making styles of pilots, flying habits as function of age and heat stress events are presented, as well as human factors issues on cockpit design. Avionics and increased use of flat panel displays in cockpits is also covered.
