Peter G. Wright

Peter Wright earned an MA studying Mechanical Sciences at Cambridge, England. Upon leaving university, he joined BRM as a research engineer on chassis and aerodynamics. He later joined Lotus, where he rose to be Managing Director of Lotus Engineering and, subsequently, Technical Director of Team Lotus. During 21 years at Lotus, he worked on advanced composites, ground effect aerodynamics, and active control systems. Peter joined the FIA in 1995 and is Chairman of the Sports Car and GT Commissions, as well as a member of the FIA Safety Commission and Research Group and of the EuroNCAP Assembly and Technical Working Group. Since 2002, he has been Technical Adviser to the FIA Foundation for the Automobile and Society. Peter writes technical articles for motorsport publications worldwide and has had papers published on aerodynamics, active suspension, and safety. In 2001, he published his first book, Formula I Technology.
