Don B. Chaffin

Don B. Chaffin received his PhD in industrial engineering from the University of Michigan in 1968. He has held faculty positions at the University of Kansas, University of California at Irvine, and the University of Florida. He currently is the Lawton and Louise Johnson Professor of Industrial & Operations Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan, where he directs the Human Motion Simulation Laboratory. His primary research concentrates on the biomechanical aspects of human exertions and motions to enhance computerized workspace and vehicle design methods. He has received awards from the HFES, ASB, SAE, AOEM, AIHA, and ISB, and has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering.
