    John R Maten

    John Maten is a Senior Staff Engineer in the Advanced Power Transfer area of GM Powertrain in Ypsilanti, Ml. John received his BSME from Kettering University (formerly General Motors Institute) in 1981 and his Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1995. John began his career with GM in 1976 as a cooperative education student at the former Hydra-matic Division (now GM Powertrain). He started his work on CVT development in 1979 and has worked in several different areas of product engineering. Recent assignments have included developing and evaluating future transmission concepts, including CVT5. A majority of John's work has been with the metal belt type of CVT, but he also has experience in the areas of traction drives and hydrostatic types of CVT5, as well as a working knowledge of other types. John is a member of the SAE sub-committee on CVT5 and was an organizer of two SAE TOPTEC conferences on CVT5.

    Bruce D Anderson

    Bruce Anderson is a program manager with the Transmission Systems Group of Borg Warner located in Auburn Hills, Ml. Bruce earned his BSME from the University of Michigan in 1968 and his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1992. Bruce joined Borg Warner in 1993 as Chief Engineer of the Transmission System Engineering group in Bellwood, IL, and has moved through various positions in the company. Prior to his joining Borg Warner, Bruce spent 19 years with Rockwell International and six years with Allied Signal. Bruce has chaired the SAE CVT Committee since being founded in 1996.
