SAE Truck and Bus Control Communications Network Standards Manual - 2009 Edition

This two volume set ( HS-1939/2009) contains the 17 core standards in the J1939 family. Developed by SAE’s Truck and Bus Control and Communications Subcommittee, J1939 (Recommended Practice for a Serial Control and Communications Vehicle Network) is the Controller Area Network (CAN) of choice for on-highway trucks and off-highway equipment.

The latest volumes includes four new standards and three revised standards.

The J1939 standards family is maintained to ensure CAN device interoperability. J1939, the top level document in the collection, is the master control for definitions common to many applications and industries. The 16 companion documents explain component rationalization and product standardization for a particular application or industry.
