Federico Millo

Federico Millo is an Associate Professor at the Dipartimento di Energetica, Politecnico di Torino, Italy. He received his master's degree in mechanical engineering at Politecnico di Torino in 1989. After a short experience in the automotive industry, Mr. Millo joined the faculty at Politecnico di Torino as a Researcher Assistant in 1991. In 1998, he was appointed Associate Professor. His research activity has focused mainly on the analysis of the combustion process in internal combustion engines and of pollutant formation and control in diesel engines. He has published more than 50 articles, most of which are in the proceedings of international congresses and in international journals, and he has been responsible for several research projects with major European automotive companies. Mr. Millo also has been serving as a technical consultant for the European Commission for the development of a global technical regulation on worldwide harmonized test procedures for emissions regulations. He is a member of SAE International and has been serving as an organizer and chairman for the Engine Modeling session at the annual SAE World Congress, as well as a peer reviewer for several international journals, including the International Journal of Engine Research (Institution of Mechanical Engineers [IMechE]), the Journal of Energy Resources Technology, and the Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power (ASM E).
